DGC for the municipality of Paullo, Italy

Case studies

The municipal administration has requested the preparation of an annual and final mandate balance format pursuant to article 3bis of law 113/1992 introduced by law 10/2013 "Rules for the development of urban green spaces", as envisaged for the municipalities over 15,000 inhabitants, although Paullo has only 11 000 inhabitants.

In addition to the information contained in the DBT (Land Data Base), the Municipality

of Paullo had at its disposal a recent census uploaded on a digital proprietary platform.

The DGC was able to import, integrating them, the data of the two surveys, eliminating with an automatic procedure the trees registered twice by the two surveys.

The DGC therefore has:

• Proceeded to the Giscloud platform setup of the DGC; the setup included the   preparation of the platform, the formation of the web interface, the upload to the cloud   and all the connected digital technologies.

• Loaded of the DBT of the city of Paullo for isolated trees and green areas.

• Recovered from the proprietary software “Treeapp” and loaded on the DGC of the data   collected on the green areas in charge of the Municipality and on the arboreal

  and shrubby heritage.

• Quickly mapped (from photogrammetric/DBT /aerial photos/Google streetview)

  by green area classes.

• Preparated an ecological balance based on leaf surface parameters and a format

  for the overall annual and end of term financial statements pursuant to Article 3bis

  of Law 113/1992 introduced by Law 10/2013 "Rules for the development of urban green   spaces."

The arboreal heritage was therefore 6,000 isolated specimens, of which 5,000 from DBT and 1,400 from the 2018 census of the public green management company, net

of duplications.

This loading of the two existing data sets made it possible to prepare a basic map

(see above) for the future continuation of the census of the Botanical Heritage both

in the areas public greens in both private and related formation of increasingly comprehensive ecological balances of the territory.
